Nice! I’m in.
Nice! I’m in.
I’m on vacation!
I took 2 weeks off from my high pressure corporate job and my laptop isnt with me. This week I’m spending time with my family out in the woods, and next week I fly home to a lovely staycation. I haven’t had more than a long weekend since Christmas so this is nice.
You should give a shit, because it means now the library has to waste its money cleaning it, instead of funding programs or new books. Libraries losing funding makes the world worse. These people made the world worse.
How about I spray “Free Palestine” into your fucking mouth? You wouldn’t mind right? I’m sure you’d be talking about that.
“If you don’t like it don’t fly”
Seriously just shut up.
Edit: LMAO just saw your other comment where you actually said this sincerely. You’re a parody of yourself.

The Bible did fuck me up as a kid.
But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
Matthew 5:28-5:29
Reading this as a super religious + horny 12 year old was terrifying. I felt extreme guilt for not maiming myself for a few years before I finally realized religion was bullshit.
I don’t know how accurate each of the claims in this article are, but this is the kind of stuff that he’s been accused of, and as a result most people don’t really worship or admire him much anymore: https://www.wired.com/story/richard-stallman-and-the-fall-of-the-clueless-nerd/
I would spend my time at my current job making more money than this program would pay.
The only thing I’ve found them actually useful for is generating random lists for my D&D games.
When it comes down to needing some mundane descriptions, its great having an LLM brainstorm for you. “Give me 10 examples of weird things I might see in jars in a witch’s hut.” This works well because you can just cut the 5 you don’t like and use the other 5 to brainstorm your final list.
All of the issues with Event Horizon are because of the studio screwing up the story. And the footage of the good version of the movie was lost on the cutting room floor, so we’ll never see it.
Its such a good premise and so well executed that its still good despite its story & pacing issues. One of the best moments of my life was showing it to my Warhammer 40k loving friend for the first time. It blew his mind.
Event Horizon is an awesome movie.
Usually I spend 5 minutes typing out an angry reply. Then I realize I have no interest in hearing back from this person, hit cancel and move on with my day.
There’s a beautiful Tang Dynasty Chinese poem about this idea: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quiet_Night_Thought
床前明月光 疑是地上霜 举头望明月 低头思故乡
Before my bed lies a pool of moon bright I could imagine that it’s frost on the ground I look up and see the bright shining moon Bowing my head I am thinking of home
It sounds like you’ve got a good manager, so hopefully they won’t hold that against you. This is the reality of oncall - it sucks!
When you get woken up in the middle of the night, of course you’re going to be more tired the next day. I’m the same as you - I can’t fall back asleep if its early morning so I normally just stay awake and am tired that day. You shouldn’t feel guilty for being at 1/2 capacity after working all night to solve your employer’s problems!
I tell my engineers - if you get paged off hours, however much time you spend resolving the issue, take that time back from the next workday.
I also practice what I preach - if I get paged at 3am and work on the issue until 5am, I’ll come in 2 hours late or leave 2 hours early.
Let’s not post right wing propaganda here
