Proud owner of Miez (born 2013)

and previous owner of Koda and Lilly (2013&2021)

M&K ended up fighting all the time. I then took in L as a new playmate for Koda. Luckily K&L found a new home with friends

World News@lemmy.world•Russian asylum seekers expelled from US have ended up on Ukraine frontEnglish
2·11 days agoThat’s a good point, as having russian-only units sorts out some of the issues I guess. That wasn’t really ehat I was thinking about though. I get that there are lots of russians opposing the government strongly enough to be willing to fight against them. I was wondering about military age draft dodgers, but I guess they have civilian service for any people unwilling to fight.

World News@lemmy.world•Russian asylum seekers expelled from US have ended up on Ukraine frontEnglish
5·11 days agoNow I’m curious as how Ukraine handles asylum seekers from Russia. Do they consider them too much of a risk to draft them? I mean, obviously going from one country at war to another doesn’t solve many of the issues, but I’m curious as to how this would affect their risk of bbeing drafted.

Edit: LOL how @redpastaknife@lemmy.world downvoted all of my latest comments, even these and ones in other unrelated posts. Haters gotta hate I guess.

52·15 days agoYour cat is not a toddler that will one day need to be a functioning member of society. You can and should make decisions that ensure its safety in exchange for its freedoms.
Classic bad faith arguing: Not understanding the other party, not knowing which pros and cons, neither understanding why I used these examples, so assuming the most braindead argument you can come up with. But you’re not at all willing to even consider my point, which is why there is no use talking to you.

92·15 days agoTo people like me it’s a risk reward calculation, to others it’s about eliminating even the slightest risk. It’s a question of mindset. To me, the other mindset doesn’t make sense and is even a slippery slope, as this is how you end up with helicopter parents, surveillance states etc., all because of giving yourself an impossible task.
I have considered the risks, have watched how she behaves, and have come to the conclusion that it’s worth the risk as long as her hearing and eyesight are still good.

81·16 days agoThey actually are normally sloped, it just doesn’t show in my construction as I cut the wood on the bottom with the same slope. I’ll see if it becomes a problem on the top of the entrance box thingy, I might have to add some sloped roof there.

158·16 days agoI am well aware of that, these holier-than-though people exist here as well. Also, my conscience is clear as Miez only hunts mice by sitting in front of their entrances. She is way too old, slow and limping to learn catching birds.

If it were her brother I would 100% agree. Miez on the other hand is just a really gentle and nice cat. Still looking forward to sitting that asshole starting later today though.
