People suggest matrix but matrix really doesnt replace mattermost for an org.
mattermost is oriented towards org needs. It has boards, playbooks, better levels of access control. Admin panels etc.
We really need a sane Slack alternative that is at least fully free for self hosting.
Its based on webkit, IIRC
It’s great. Gets things done. I even have it for my office. About 20 people there.

The docker network+reverse proxy is also how I handle things too.
Podman seems easy to migrate, and works fine with firewalls.

Nothing will ever be just “docker compose up” but checkout movim. I think it’s good. Haven’t used it myself yet.
