It’s a bigger deal on bigger aircraft, but on mid-size narrow bodies it’s not as much of a problem. A 737, depending on the model, only has a difference of about 20-30k lbs between MTOW and MLGW and no fuel dump capability. An overweight landing isn’t really a big deal in one, just a quick maintenance inspection. Closing the gap so MTOW and MLGW are equal is doable. It’s hard to overstate how huge of an expense fuel is to an airline, if they have to lose some passengers and cargo they would absolutely do it if it got rid of the fuel expense.

Of course all that is contingent on having batteries with enough energy density to get somewhere close to current MTOWs while having something of a useful range.

The same way we make bigger aircraft with higher landing weights: beefier landing gear and structural reinforcement. Airliners don’t have a lower max landing weight than takeoff because they have to, they do it because it’s cheaper and more efficient. Add some more structural weight and you lose some payload, but if the efficiency gains from fuel cost savings make it worthwhile, then manufacturers will make them.

There’s a correct way to solve the problem. You can get a GPU dock for like $100-300. Or you can get a long PCIE riser for like $20, and hook up an unused PSU and jump the start pins on the ATX cable with a paperclip. There’s a correct way to use multiple psus too, but I had a paperclip and didn’t have a jumper cable. Anyways it’s stable enough that uptime is at a year and it hasn’t started a fire yet.

Decimate means 1/10th destroyed, lost, whatever. I don’t care that the dictionary says that meaning is obsolete. I get that the meaning of words changes over time, but it has the prefix deci. 1/10th. You don’t get to decide something that starts with 1/10th means near total even if it’s a scary sounding word.

Haven’t bought an EA game since Mass Effect 3 where the day one DLC caused the DRM to block the game from launching and tech support just gave up and hung up after their script failed to fix. Downloaded a crack for my fully bought and paid for game and fixed it myself in 5 minutes. Screw them, their games are shovelware anyway.

They legitimately make a noticeable difference to me when hiking. But really only after 6-7 hrs of hiking or if I’m going backpacking for several days. Otherwise water with normal snacks is plenty.
