Lots of woke businesses to replace with non-woke ones, like didn’t DailyWire try to launch a “family friendly” media streaming service in competition to Disney?
Bentkey is a subscription video service for children’s programming by The Daily Wire
Another thing is I frequently see even free events that use Zoom, Google Docs, or some other “cancerous bloated” technology. Could offer the exact same thing except with some “freer” better alternative (like a Matrix chat instead of a “Slack chat” or whatever?)
The bloat is how the money is made and shareholders love money.
There are people who work on projects and try to stay true to their purpose, we’re talking on one such project right now. But these people don’t really make money. If Lemmy were a company, it would be a very unprofitable one.
These projects don’t have the resources of a large company, because most of the time they aren’t even a company, and they would be unprofitable even if they were. So the projects are nice and work well, but they aren’t sophisticated enough to compete with the big bloaties.
