Hey everyone! Nothing bad just incase you don’t know, you can make communities private or public now.

Private only shows locally on our instance

Public will show to who we are federated with

Please check out the 1.9.4 recent lemmy update on github for direct information about it. My break down is an assumption as to how it works.

    This is a great feature - I am thinking of making a community that will just be private curation of some more far right content that I want to be able to look back on and I do not want to like… draw a target on this instance, obviously, but also do not see the purpose in it being entirely private.

      I also have considered starting a Korean language news community that likewise doesn’t need to end up spamming other instances and annoying people, lol.
