Hmm. I’m not sure, I want to look it up but I’m scared I’m gunna get a bunch of biaset ass news articles.

I guess my opinion would be, banning guns from law abiding citizens is not going to solve the problem of criminals getting guns

It’s tricky, I think there will always be people in society who shouldn’t have guns (violent criminals for example). This implies you need at least some basic level of control over the sale and ownership of guns.

To Alice’s point I think criminals will always have guns, politicians will always lie and be corrupt, druggies will always smoke meth, etc. I don’t think this changes the fact that we should try to fight against these things.

So on that basis, I don’t think it’s a good thing that any nutter with a 3D printer can potentially print themselves a weapon, I support the legal ownership of guns.

I live in a country with no guns. Criminals don’t always have guns. Yes, the higher up narcos have them but you rarely see armed robberies, school shootings or terrorist attacks.

The US on the other hand has too many guns circulating around to just forbid guns. You can’t fight guns with no guns. That is just impossible.

AFAIK a fully 3d printed gun doesn’t exist yet. You still need to buy other metal parts for it. 3d printers are a tech that isn’t perfected yet. You’ll need some knoledge to do it right. Potentially you would need some money because the first attempt isn’t a guaranteed success. Not any nutter can do it without exploding. Which is good in my opinion because only people with some skills have access to them and not just your random crackhead.

I agree, I don’t think the US should ever ban guns. All I’m saying is there should ideally be some way to ensure really shit people can’t get one, in the same way we try to make sure underage kids don’t buy alcohol or cigarettes.

I agree with you, it’s good that the barrier for entry is reasonably high and not just any random crackhead could print themselves one.
