most of the nurses I work with, I don’t care about them, but there are five that for whatever reason took an interest to teach me several little tricks that make my job run smoother.

Before I leave the unit and hospital, I’d like to give each one of them a small token of appreciation.

All of them are women, 2 of them are married, this is in no way whatsoever romantic.

i was thinking pastries but not for the whole unit, but for each of them.

Another option would be a flower for each one of them.

I don’t know them that well personally, because I’m on the introverted side and like to separate my private life from my workplace.

    Here’s a fun little present.

If you’re in the US go to the bank and get a roll of gold dollar coins. Then go to a hobby shop and get some draw string bags, the kind Robin Hood would carry.

I’m pretty sure no one has ever given any of them a bag of gold coins before.

Do American banks all have gold dollars in store, or is this something that has to be “booked” in advance?

Some banks have them, some don’t. It depends on what’s in stock that day. Tried to ask for a stack of US$2 bills once and they told me I’d need to place an order for US$10,000 in order to get them in because they don’t keep them stocked.

We used to get Jeffersons back (with some Sacajaweas or suzyBs) from the p.a.t-h train into NYC at the turnstyles as change back from a Lincoln.

You cannot spend most of that anywhere and I still have some stashed in a box so many years later.

And it was fun naming the money, thank you for asking.

Dollar coins haven’t been popular in the US for a long time. Same with fifty cent pieces. If you ask for a roll of dollar coins you’ll get a bunch of silver colored ones in with the gold ones. The last time I did it it took a couple of trips, but my buddy really liked it. He’s into fantasy.

I remember 50 cents was pretty popular in the early to mid 00s. But beyond that I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. Plenty of quarters and dollar notes, but nothing in between.

In my area I’ve noticed that some stores are starting to charge more for using a credit card. I predict that cash is going to make a comeback.
