Lame take IMO. Fashion is one of the oldest and most universal languages. It says “I belong to/want to belong to this group of people and I want people in that community to recognize me as such.” As long as no one’s being coerced or forced to do anything they don’t want to, I have no problem with an innocent question like “What can I wear so other people with my same interests recognize me?”
Like just be yourself. Have your own sense of style. I don’t get this ‘Follow the goth rules’ bs
