informally yes I think a lot of people do - hypothesis, experiment, analyze, conclude, repeat next experiment

but some people have critiqued the scientific method and mentioned that scientific progress or progress in life often deviates from this process, and also that scientific beliefs often don’t strictly follow the process (for example, people believe the theory of evolution happened in the past, but you can’t really use the scientific method to prove that, because history is not open to a current experiment, so they are only reasoning based on current experiments and applying that to the past)
