Ooh wow first place!
YAY! THANKS DHMO
Oh, I guess it didn’t really come across, but I was joking.
My claim to fame: I have the 38th (or maybe 39th? I don’t think I was counting very accurately…) top post here complaining about AfterPay. Do I get a participation trophy?
I have the 3rd top post on the instance as a whole! I want a medal for that!
Probably not. “Natural” anything tends to be some sort of fine powder from either a bug or plant/flower. Most people don’t really care if you tell them there’s “Food additive (natural flavouring) E120” but get all up in arms when you write “dried bug carcass”
That was crossing a line
Lol, no. Go do some research.
It’s not that bad. So many people being on Lemmy World causes more problems than just this. The point of the fediverse is that things should be more decentralised. But if you don’t want to switch to a better instance and can’t handle not having your replies read for a week, you can also just block every instance in the southern hemisphere
I’m fairly sure it’s the former and not the latter, but I may be wrong. It seems to be a different interface to the usual camera app and usually takes similar quality photos to the regular camera (before post processing anyway)
Very few applications are able to access the native camera.
I’m not sure this is entirely correct. I’ve used many apps which will open up the camera and allow 1 photo to be taken which then displays with a check mark to import it into the application. The photo is then deleted (I’m pretty sure).
I like this. It reminds me of a similar app I used to use a long time ago called BuyCott. But their app needs a bit more work first. When I tried to scan a pack of frozen veggies the app ceashed, and when I try to submit products their app doesn’t know about to them, it just keeps saying error submitting photos and clears all the photos and descriptions I gave them. Plus their android app uses their own camera implementation, which because of differences in camera architecture, always results in much worse photos. I’d prefer they opened my actual camera and let me take a photo through that, because then things would be readable
I signed up for an Optus Sim when I was 12, so I didn’t have any ID or anything like that, but there was a period of time where they allowed you to use a PayPal account as proof of ID. I was able to bullshit my way through the PayPal (and Optus) sign ups and they just never questioned it. So thankfully they didn’t leak my ID. They did have my actual name and address though (and phone number and email I guess), but that’d not too bad compared to how bad it would’ve been if they’d leaked my license or something
I’d also stopped using that number and had moved so it’s only my email and name I care about being released. But I already get a ton of spam to that email anyways so it doesn’t matter that much.
I don’t, but I have been caught up in a couple of others. Thankfully I didn’t get caught in the Optus one (I think)
I’d support an option to collapse them automatically (and would probably use it), but I disagree that they’re a bad idea. I use them a lot and really like it.
If this was implemented, I think it should render similar to how spoilers do on web Lemmy, but with the title being prefixed with [photo] and the title itself being the alt text if set. Something like this:

Spoilers aren’t actually implemented in BfL yet, but that’d look like this:
Interesting. I’ve heard of GHB but didn’t know it was one of those. I’ve only heard of roofies being used. But I don’t generally keep up with what’s happening in the drug world
Fellow lemmings who can’t read lemmy.world posts (in a timely fashion anyway) of the world UNITE!
If you’re down for a bit of tinkering and paying for an additional VPS based in Finland, someone in the thread dhmo linked to wrote some software that can be deployed on a VPS nearer to where Lemmy world’s servers are and will send the jobs in batches to your server which will massively help. It seems to be quite a technical and involved process, but if you were able to figure out how to get Lemmy set up, I’m sure you could figure this out too. Otherwise apparently the next major Lemmy upgrade will introduce parallel processing and sending, so that should resolve the problem

What
I nearly pissed myself laughing when I saw that + the walkout. I doubt he’s even worked in a woolies before
I guess this is the sequel to “Domino’s getting desperate”
