I think this is based on poor understanding of genetics. A lot of neurodivergent people have mutations in a gene (MTHFR) that deals with processing folate, but that doesn’t mean they have reduced folate by itself. But, taking folic acid if you have decreased ability to process it can actually cause health problems. I’m not sure what the difference is for folinic acid, but this just all sounds very pharma-bro and unscientific to me

I’m terrible at math so I really shouldn’t have commented lol

Anti-Villains are somewhat the opposite of Anti-Heroes. While the Anti-Hero often fights on the side of good, but with questionable or selfish motives and methods; the Anti-Villain plays a villain’s game, but for a noble cause, or with respectable qualities, in a way that the audience or other characters can sympathize with. They may be more noble or heroic than an Anti-Hero, but the means to achieve their ends are often considered exploitative, immoral, unjust, or just evil.

So characters like Magneto or Poison Ivy
The first few clues had me questioning the “evil” tag. But that quickly changed 😂

Sometimes I think Roberts has some standards, just exceptionally low/evil ones. While Thomas seems completely bought and paid for
It’s especially fun if your name is similar to a comic character that you don’t care for
Source: have a name that’s similar to an anti-villain
Edit: y’all are cracking me up!

Housing prices have skyrocketed in recent months.

Also weird to consider “trans rights are human rights” to be nihilistic (Political belief or action that advocates or commits violence or terrorism without discernible constructive goals)
Edit: I meant as in trans people murdering other people. Trans people are overwhelmingly victims of violence than perpetrators
Pretty sure that’s a snapping turtle. Had a bunch in our ponds when I was growing up and they’d always climb the fence like this.
What a weird choice to replace Charlie. Like, the man used to be gay until conservatives turned on him over it, he’s catholic, worked for Nick Fuentes (Kirk’s nemesis) and Ye, and he’s not even American.

You don’t have to take my word when Wikipedia exists :) I think this version must be popular with older folks, I have a boomer prof who writes them as shown in the OP image
The & symbol they wrote looks like a three I guess. It’s saying that “two Black men were lynched &…”
FoxyFerengi@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When rich people can edit their kids DNA won't that just lock everyone else out and create a new class?4·6 天前I’m not here to downplay those problems in China. They are serious. But, that’s not the government saying they don’t care about children, it’s saying that they have their own racist and bigoted political problems.
And, if you’ve paid any attention, the US is doing really similar things and has been for a long time. We made some progress with the Civil rights movement, but we still have Black people arrested at 2x the rate of white, 37% of the prison pop is Black while they only represent 13% of the general pop. The education system has all but erased the cultural roots of Black Americans, and God forbid a Black teen uses slang to communicate. Most of the sectioning off of voting areas in the US is to minimize their and other minority’s voting power. For now it’s still legal to say “Hey this influencer really made life bad for me, and I’m okay with him being dead”, but it may not remain legal for long. EPA regulations are being dissolved, but the biggest problems will affect traditionally/forced Black neighborhoods.
FoxyFerengi@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When rich people can edit their kids DNA won't that just lock everyone else out and create a new class?2·6 天前Where are you getting the idea that the government in China doesn’t care about their children?
FoxyFerengi@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When rich people can edit their kids DNA won't that just lock everyone else out and create a new class?2·6 天前Hey man, you’re the one that brought up rules. But while we’re talking about international rules, gene editing of embryos and their descendants is legal in the US if it’s privately funded. And it’s not illegal internationally to do so
Also, I’d be less worried about CRISPR specifically for this use, because it’s not always accurate, is limited in what it can actually do, and there are better gene editing tools now
FoxyFerengi@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When rich people can edit their kids DNA won't that just lock everyone else out and create a new class?7·6 天前But our side has rules, you assume they play by the rules.
China academia has the same problem that US academia has: publish or perish.
And seriously, you can’t say something like that and ignore all the BS the US government has been pulling internationally for decades. Trump murdered 14 random people on boats that weren’t even in US territory, and seemingly no one on the international stage gives a shit
My brain doesn’t handle videos very well, what’s the summary?
