The web UI is nice enough.
Mostly it hasn’t been weaponized into a ‘use our app or GTFO’ prompt which has become the norm elsewhere.
I always used third party clients on reddit, but not here.
The thing I like most is standard browser stuff… bookmarks, adblock extensions, etc.

Start by also running Wireshark on the client device where Firefox is installed.

Might be some weird fringe case that’s not handled correctly somewhere like an ipv4 checksum of ffff or something.
This isn’t something too plausible, but this seems weird enough that farfetched things might be afoot.
Then again, NS_CONNECTION_REFUSED would mean receiving a reset or something, as opposed to being silently dropped.

Firefox does work for other LAN IPs, right?

I only ever bought a H440 case from them.
It was a popular and well reviewed at the time.
The design itself is fine, probably better than most back then, but I also had to retap several threads because the screws would bind.

I realize it’s anecdotal, but idk if I’d buy from them again.
Building the whole PC, realizing it needs tapping, disassembling everything, tapping, cleaning metal shards, reassembling again was certainly more of a hassle than I care for.

I do prefer my air to be homogeneous.

I visited Ireland in 2019 and I fell in love with the place and the people.
It’s one of the few places in the world where I just feel… home?
I don’t really know how to explain it.

While there I also saw a lot of parallels between Ireland and Québec. The different language and culture in a sea of English, the religious undertones of the history with the British, etc.

I have absolutely 0 Irish genetic heritage, and I don’t go about pretending I’m Irish, but there’s certainly memories of Ireland in my heart.

Bog standard default UI, but with a dark theme.

I realize this is slightly off-topic, but I always end up going back to using just a mobile browser.
It has features that I haven’t found in apps: multiple tabs, bookmarks, built-in ad blocker, etc.
TBH, before using lemmy, I had almost forgotten how it was to use a website that’s not outright hostile to mobile browsers.

My use case might be wildly different and I’m not saying wanting an app is invalid at all, and the web UI itself also has room for improvement.
Just… the browser actually works here compared to places like reddit and I keep going back to using that.

Windows 10 LTSC currently has an EoL date of 2027-01-12.

No store, no cortana, much less bullshit in general.
LTSC is the only current windows version I even remotely consider having.
