Birday is a nice simple app that I like, it shows all upcoming birthdays and how many days until they happen. Just pulls the data from your calendar so no setup needed.

Same, at 1x it just takes too long for animations to complete.

I thought the apple headset was MR for productivity and stuff? VR gaming headsets like the Oculus seem to be doing fairly well.

Never use this. Giving your unlocked phone to law enforcement is a terrible idea.

It’s another service/layer that has access to your messages, even if you trust Beeper there’s always a chance something gets breached and someone else gains access to private data.

As far as I know Verizon is main carrier doing this. They’ve always been an absolutely horrible company.

The downside is it’s against their ToS, and you could have your account banned or similar if they do decide to take action.

Interesting, I tried the migrator plugin on my basic 2 page site and none of my plugins or theme are compatible with ClassicPress. It wants me to drop all the way back to the 2017 base theme.

Great for a new site I suppose.

I don’t understand how lemmy and fedi apps in general still have this problem, they never seem to be able to recognize a link and just show it on my home instance.

What instance?

There isn’t a true replacement for Wordpress because of the sheer availability of plugins it has.

But for simple sites like blogs and personal sites Grav CMS is one I’ve used, and it gives you a web admin panel similar to Wordpress, so the learning curve isn’t too bad.

Drupal also gets mentioned a lot as a replacement.

There are also static site generators like Hugo, but those require learning a lot about the specific one you use, and are pretty complex to use, and if you need non-static content like a web form or something it can add a lot of complexity to your whole setup.
