Good point, I was just thinking about cars. Cars are what typically takes the blame for pollution, but it’s really more the big industries doing it at scale

I think this is the microphone spies coming out in the open. Google recently filed some similar creepy tech patent if I recall correctly. It’s the same scheme of recording all audio all day, and they would offer you a list of important things to remember or notes on the day.
I never believed in the past when the nay-sayers denied that them listening to our device’s microphones all day was feasible. I’d already seen too many instances of the audio spying being used to direct ad content to people. They are voice-printing us all from every available audio source. They already know when you say something in the presence of someone else’s phone.
People really have to break these chains of phone addiction, and just allowing them to do what they want on our phones.

Also on the comparison of “on fire” vs used as fuel - IDK about the emissions during the refining process, but when gas or diesel is burnt as fuel in a car, there are typically several emissions control systems reducing the pollution produced

Being drunk doesn’t change who you are or make your body perform actions that you didn’t choose (other than digestive system side effects like puking). It’s always you in control of your body, making choices to do things or to not do things. It won’t make a good person turn bad. It can make you less inhibited and make it harder to think clearly, but that’s not going to make you forget how to be decent.

“302 senators have died in office in the past” … really shows how the Senate has too many old bastards staying in office too long. They should be retired while they fade away into death, instead of making important decisions for the country that they will never have to worry about the consequences of.

I’m not Chief O’Brien but I use a reverse-osmosis water filter installed under the sink, that has its own drinking water tap. It has 6 or 7 stages of filters and a pressurized tank to hold a few gallons of filtered water. And it does remove bacteria, chlorine, fluoride, lead, and pretty much everything but water. I installed it about 10 years ago and it was a fantastic investment. It cost under $200 if I recall, and the yearly cost for filters is about $50 to $100 to have unlimited pure water. Filters must be replaced every 6-12 months, except for some like the RO membrane that lasts 2-3 years.

Don’t forget your raincoat or umbrella when you go out!

Put them down next to a turd so that the camera can only see the turd

Imagine if the “world’s first trillionaire” was a good guy and used that money to build libraries, hospitals, schools or other things that help society instead of just trying to make more money and do nazi shit

Mars… or your toilet

I’ve built a couple of DHT11 wifi gadgets with ESP boards. Fair warning: they are not very accurate except in mild / middle temp ranges. When it gets too cold or too hot their readings can get way off the mark.
Here’s some other people complaining about them: https://forum.arduino.cc/t/dht11-accuracy/373416
At least they are cheap. If you want a basic temp / humidity sensor, it will do that but I wouldn’t use it for anything crucial.

That sounds like a confession of committing a criminal conspiracy
IDK but all the Little Debbie type cake things really do taste like wax to me now. And they used to be good, somewhat

The “AI boom” concept doesn’t make sense to me. What do they think we need the “AI” for? I find that I don’t need it for anything, and as I’m “being left behind” without using it, I still wonder what they think I should need it for.
In my experience the “AI” chatbots are useful for people who don’t know how to do anything. But I’ve spent my life learning how to do everything I ever wanted to learn how to do, so I just don’t need that.

They could do that, but it would cost them more money to provide that convenience to the customer. Since they are high AF on their own hype for that release, they have no motivation to do that.

Nothing wrong with that, except that it’s weird. Reselling games is not important to me though, I just keep what I get and add to the collection. Still have a physical boxed copy of Halo for Mac OS X in my attic even.
Being able to share the game with family or friends would be a plus. I can do that with my Steam library without discs too.

Games like that don’t really fit on discs anymore when they are probably over 100GB. So you get a disc and put it in the console and then it downloads 150GB more content onto the console, that means the disc is just a license key anyway.
What is a bigger issue is that they want to charge $80+ for a game. I’m not going to pay that much for any game.

Wouldn’t work because you can’t open the lid to do the fix to the little gear inside to fix the laser alignment (that old PS2s would need)
That much Big Brother spying activity is not necessary to achieve a similar goal. Combine a smart cap for pill bottles with an alarm reminder system. Smart pill bottle cap can show if the bottle has been opened that day or some such type of simple usage tracking. Alarm on the phone or watch, and/or something like that on their refrigerator for reminders.
