I’m not necessarily in favor of data centers. That said, every time I see something like this I just wonder when we are going to start hearing about data centers being built in poor countries powered exclusively by coal and zero regulation. I really have no idea what a good outcome looks like but playing ultra hardball seems unwise. I’m very poorly educated on data centers and AI in general. But, I am an expert in electrical generation. I know we could do it pretty clean, at least relative to coal/heavy oil. I don’t think stopping data centers built in the US will magically cease the boulder rolling in the AI direction. Seems like the money is at its back so its going to happen, just a matter of when, where and how dirty.

Yeah the main sticking point seemed to be this. The commenter believes aggressively forcing a 14 year old to have sex is worse than having nonviolent “consensual”(not a thing) sex with them. They also toed the line of the latter being not that bad. I disagree with the premise from start to finish. But I understand why others might see the two concepts and view one as worse. Which is where I think a good chunk of the upvotes come into play. My posts get 200-1000 upvotes there regularly. The amount of people who agreed with that flawed logic is tiny (20ish) by comparison so I wouldn’t condemn the whole community because a few shitheads exist there. You’ll find shitheads just about anywhere. Plus the memes community is way too annoying for me to post there more consistently. We are in agreement on pretty much everything here I think. You and I have also had discussions a few times and I believe you’re being genuine.

Ohhhhh okay, yeah thats literally my post. I think the photo is funny. At least one person, maybe a few started talking about the pedophilia stuff. If you look at the thread, pretty much every comment on that end has a reply from me shit talking it and/or disagreeing. Idk I don’t agree with what was said so I used my power to reply as a form of disagreement. I think thats more useful personally than just removing the comment and hiding from the evil its promoting. Didn’t see that and obviously disagree with the sentiment on every level. That said, I wouldn’t take ANYTHING said in a shitpost community anywhere as genuine opinion. The whole point is to say things that are offensive/stupid/bait. I’d condemn anyone genuinly holding that opinion but again I wouldn’t hold any opinion shared in a trolling based community as honestly intentioned.
