However my point was that it’s a bit pointless to ask why would someone become something when by definition it’s involuntary. It’s like asking why would anyone be under 6ft tall.

The only thing I don’t like is the short summer and long winter but I try and convince myself that it’s the 4 distinctive seasons and the shitty winter that makes me truly appreciate summer. It’s also good for the human character which probably partly explains why we’ve been voted the happiest country in the world who knows how many years in a row. It may be less true now but it’s still in our genes; in the past you better be nice to your neighbour because once the winter comes and food runs out, your life may depend on them.

I started my own business which involves going into people’s homes and fixing shit. I’m meeting a ton of new people nowdays, granted most of them are either elderly or single older women / moms.

It’s been nothing but politics and memes (often about politics) since the first day I joined. I can only imagine how bad it is without my content filters considering how bad it is even with them.

I do however live in a open relationship myself but our situation is a bit different. It’s me who has practically zero interest in sex so my gf is allowed to see other guys and she does. I used to be extremely jealous person before but I somehow grew out of it. The first few times she went out with one felt kind of weird but as time passed I got over it and no longed does it make me feel jealous. What I’ve noticed is that as long as I trust her there’s no problem. It’s when ever she acts in a way that I find suspicious that all my insecurities creep up. Having been cheated on before likely has something to do with this. If you’ve been suspecting that she has done stuff behind your back, even if she hasn’t, then that is not the time to go forward with this. Trust is the number one, two and third most important thing in a open relationship.

I’m fine by that. It’s not exactly how I see it but I have no argument against. It’s not what this thread is about.

Perfect is probably exaggerated but what I mean is the promp that produces the exact outcome you were looking for. Generative AI can produce very high quality pictures with a simple prompt but if you’re an artist with an exact vision in mind, it not so easy anymore to get AI to produce that for you.

Personally I find AI art to look like “AI-art” if that makes sense.

I know what you mean and while I generally agree I must still note that this only applies to the “bad” examples. It’s conceivable that you too have seen pieces you truly liked but didn’t realize were made by AI. This is something people often don’t seem to consider; AI art is only bad untill it isn’t.

Painters can either splash paint on the canvas or spend months working on a photorealistic masterpiece. There’s absolutely a difference in skill needed for both but to claim the former is not art would also be gatekeeping.

That argument also disregards the actual difficulty of crafting the perfect prompt to get the AI to output what you want it to. Anyone can create pictures with it but it’s not trivial to get it to create exactly what you want.

It’s a rather safe assumption. I too like to tell myself a story about how I can always spot fakes but I know it to not be true.

This is slightly off topic because we’re now discussing who the artist is, not wether it’s considered art.

My personal opinion on the matter is that artist is not a tool so by prompting them it’s still them whose creating the art piece. At best it would be considered a collaboration. The output is still art. I argue that the output of human and AI collaboration is also art.

How did they not create anything? They inserted a prompt into the tool and received a picture.
