  • I couldn’t speak to this specific machine and machines aren’t really my wheelhouse but a couple of great guys to follow on YouTube are Mike Israetel of Renaissance Periodization and Jeff Nippard. Both are really knowledgeable and speak in language that a layman can understand. Jeff is all about natural growth through “science-based exercise”. Ignore Mike’s nonsense or enjoy it, it’s mostly put on. He is extremely knowledgeable and cuts through a lot of the bullshit and mysticism around hypertrophy based lifting and physical fitness. From there you could probably find a basic 3 day program centered around machines.

Edit: I should also say, beyond being safe, the most important thing is consistency. Pick a schedule that actually works for you, at least 2 but ideally 3 days per week, and do that every week and in 6 months you’ll see noticeable results. The individual lifts matter much less for beginners.

  • He is baffled by the focus of assets. Thousands of people from across the world came together to create these beautifully meticulous visual details, yet nobody bothered to make sure the game is actually fun to play.

Also, I know I’m going to be gunned down on this hill but BOTW is boring. I have tried again and again to get through that game and can’t push myself beyond 10-15ish hours. It’s like everyone that is raving about it has never played a basic open world game before. It has a cool physics system but that can’t prop up the fact that the huge open world is just EMPTY and when you do finally find something to interact with it’s either 1)One of 4 enemy types that you can either use the physics engine to cheese or just whack at using the most basic combat system imaginable (and you’ll be punished for using with a broken weapon), or 2) an incredibly basic “dungeon” that involves 1-3 simple puzzles and maybe another boring fight.

To top it off the writing is absolutely atrocious, so you can’t even rely on that to drive you through the mediocre gameplay. I just don’t get it.

  • If you managed to cook a 17lbs brisket through in 7.5 hours (even pre-trimmed), you were almost certainly cooking too hot. I usually smoke at 225-250 for ~45-60min/pound. It’s not unheard of through and if you’re happy that’s what matters. I would recommend getting a quality thermometer and cooking to temp to be safe 195-210.

Definitely agree on the salt and pepper rub. If you want to kick it up a notch rub the salt and pepper on 24 hours before your cook and let it set in the fridge.

Edit: I see now that you have one of those Bluetooth thermometers in it.
