I can has cheezburger
I bought $270 worth that is now worth about $1,700. I have no idea what to do with it.
Thank you. Yeah, there’s no over it - you know- it’s still on your mind every day. I’m spending this summer cleaning out her house - clean a little, find something funny, cry a little, take a nap, repeat.
We bought a 30 pack of the little smelly cards you get at car washes and hid them all over someone’s office, car, computer bag, in files, taped under the phone and behind the monitor, etc. One of those smells very strong. 30 different scents all in a small space makes you a little nauseous.
Lost my mom over a year ago. When something good or bad happens, i still reach for my phone to call her. I don’t know when that ends. I kinda hope never.
Not a tech nerd or privacy enthusiast -just an old mom who occasionally shitcomments. I like it here.
Congratulations on your new home and upcoming weddings!! Try to enjoy the work - one day you’ll say “remember when…”
I thought there was a mental health component in the preparation/decision process prior to transitioning.
I remember that despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage. I think of it as the pumpkins’ version of the serenity prayer.
Pick the most lucrative and least likely to result in burn out as a job. Read, watch, travel to learn about and/or experience the others. Most people have interests outside of their jobs. I work in healthcare and i like to learn about new things in that area, but i also spend a lot of time on gardening, cooking, crochet, cannabis, and cute animal videos.
Health, happiness, and security for my kids.

Thank you for sharing!
Good - I never have to work weekends or holidays (other than finishing a few things i didn’t finish during the week) and i get 8 weeks off in the summer. I have an office but i don’t normally have to go there. Unless i have a meeting or appointment, no one notices if I’m a few minutes late. I drive among about a dozen buildings so i get to see the sun and there’s always an opportunity to grab a drink. I work mostly with kids and some are hilarious! I love my team.
Bad- Driving and getting in/out of your car all day sucks when it’s hot, cold, or stormy. I haul a lot of things so my car is always a mess. Sometimes i have to work with or for unpleasant adults. Occasionally there’s poop or vomit.
I work with school kids who have disabilities.
My son does screenprinting. He really, really likes the job, but he works with an asshole.
Edit to clarify that he works with one asshole, not assholes in general.
I don’t know what you mean by " If you don’t like it, just buy another one." I’ve rented many times and no one has ever said that to me. I don’t understand the context.
I think you have a narrow view of people who rent out homes. Not everyone is a corporation looking to make millions of dollars. Many are just trying to cover the cost of the home temporarily while they deal with life. My mom sold her home and bought a smaller house a year before she retired. She rented the new home until she was ready to retire and move in. When she had to move to an assisted living apartment, she rented her home to cover the mortgage so she could pay for care. She didn’t sell as she hoped to be able to return to her home. Now that she’s passed, I’ve inherited the home. I’m renting it to cover the mortgage while we make decisions about our own retirement and where we want to live.
Not everyone who rents a house to live in wants to buy a house. Not everyone who rents a house to other people wants to sell a house.
Not media, but very bad.
Headline sounds funny. Article is not funny.
