  • I find it pretty disgusting to even watch on TV or something (McPoyles), but I don’t sit around staring at people eating or drinking things that I find distasteful so I can judge them; in general I try to not judge people for having different tastes and tolerances than me.

We could definitely have a dinner and you can have a tall frothy glass of milk right from the cow’s udder with it. If you’re fun to talk to and aren’t mean, we good.

  • Almost 70% of the global population of adult humans are lactose intolerant. Whether you think drinking milk as an adult is weird or not, it isn’t something most human adults can easily do without digestive problems, and, because of that, it’s somewhat unusual to many people.

Edit: I definitely think of drinking milk as a white people thing. Similarly I think of men showering without using a washcloth as a white people thing. Neither are true of all white people, they’re just stereotypes I have, I guess.

  • Do you know how many traffic fatalities there are every day in the United States? FSD-related fatalities are rare, but they make the news every time. Someone dies roughly every 15min from a traffic accident, meaning about 10 people died in a car accident since you wrote this post.

I don’t know about the efficacy of FSD or whatever, but many, many more people are killed by human driven cars than self-driving vehicles. Self-driving vehicles don’t need to be perfect, they simply need to be better than humans, and, unfortunately, that’s not a very high bar to clear.

I’m ambivalent about Tesla. I really, really dislike Musk. But I actually have a tremendous amount of respect for the ENGINEERS at Tesla that are making some of the safest cars on the road based on crash testing–including ICE vehicles. There’s a lot of smart, hard-working people being underpaid and overworked to produce safe electric vehicles. I think they deserve praise.

  • Ditto.

I honestly didn’t realize yesterday was April Fools Day until I read this post a few minutes ago. I worked all day, and I’m a little sick, so I read a book, ate dinner, chatted with my partner who never mentioned it, and I went to bed early.

I guess it just depends on where you live and who you’re around. I don’t work in a particularly serious workplace or anything, and I interact with people through the day, but I guess everyone was just like, “nah” on AFD this year. And because I wasn’t on social media or Lemmy etc much yesterday, I didn’t even notice.

    Fine by me.
