We literally had no water for 2 weeks, and the longest I remember to be without water since I have memory is no more than a day or two.

Lots of blocks were waterless and my dad (and many other persons) started to hunt for water in regions where they had (water was disgusting and with very low pressure though), so it was normal to watch lots of vehicles with “Rotoplas” attached to them, very very Mad Max like.

I fucking laugh when I read people recommending a bidet instead of toilet paper all around here on Lemmy or Reddit, like dude, I was taking a fucking shower for two weeks (I know this might sound like rookie numbers in some other places) with a freaking Carl’s Jr plastic glass of “The Batman” movie LMAO (Batman to the rescue), also with not so good quality water too, I’d rather keep with toilet paper and wipes.

Nowadays the city is kinda flooded thanks to the storm, and the lagoons have gained some of the level they lost (they were almost dry) which is kinda dystopic to me to have these extreme changes in a matter of several weeks (talking about climate change huh).

What I do to make the process faster is:

• Backup all my shit, with Google backup (which if it works, it is way crippled) and Swift backup root.
• Download newer ROM and desired root method (KSU as of lately).
• Flash said ROM and root it.
• Grab data from Google, give root permissions to Swift Backup and complete the data retrieval sane edition.
• Rinse and repeat.

My device is EOL and most custom ROMs come decrypted by default, so I am in no need to format data, which just makes this process faster as my data remains in the same folder, but if you have a good cloud solution and nice internet speed Swift Backup can take advantage of that.

EDIT: I experience the same bug with Summit, although Voyager, Thunder, Boost and Jerboa seem to be fine.

I would like to live that dream too, for now I do fine with my 50 inch TV with light balls (I don’t even know how they are called, most likely dead leds), no sound bar, but hey, at least I have a Nvidia Shield TV 2019 Pro, which it is too damn slow for my setup on Kodi most of the times, but it behaves pretty well for everything else.

I never understood the attraction of twitter, so mastodon doesn’t appeal to me either.

I won’t try to convince you, but I am exactly like you, I still use Twitter from time to time (although not as Elon wants, I use this version) anyway, still just use it from time to time, but I gave it a chance to Mastodon (Moshidon and Megalodon clients) and I really liked to follow hashtags, I think I find more interesting content that way compared to whatever Twitter algorithm wants to show me, with that said it is not perfect, but it is definitely an improvement because, not everyone is advertising themselves there, so you pretty much need to work your way to curate your stuff (which as I have said, found it better) and it is not very different than following communities here, I dislike that even when I have filtered out languages many foreign languages still leak in the posts (something that I have not suffered here).

And even when both Mastodon and Lemmy are a shadow compared to Twitter and Reddit I still find more “niche” stuff in Mastodon than Lemmy, for example I have had some talks about Hotel Dusk and The Last Window (DS games) there and I don’t recall having that interaction here, but that could just be because Mastodon might be more popular and has a higher user base (just as the corporation ones are).
