I despise the current system where ICANN lets you slap anything you want on the end of your domain. It means it’s easier to fake a company landing page and it’s a cash grab from an organization that’s supposed to be a non profit. The original domain hierarchy created easily recognizable structure where now it’s just anarchy.
Medicare.com (and their tv commercials) was a good example of misleading people. Some cities and states are using .com sites when they should be using .gov.
The only new TLDs I find useful are .blog and .tv (for streaming sites, not Transylvania). And not many sites are using those.
I’m surprised we haven’t had a “The Good Judge” spin-off with one of the former lawyer actors yet.
Glass recycles back into glass. Just gotta quit putting it in the landfill.
If you buy an electric mower, you never have to change the oil again. Or the spark plug. Or buy gas. Or clean the carburetor.
I wonder if semaglutide works on cats?
Eleven years isn’t that long. I’d like to see designs stick around for 20 to 50 years. Redesigning and reprinting money is expensive, and it loses its familiarity and icon status every time it’s redesigned. You also open up confusion where it’s easier to pass counterfeits to tourists, etc. who are unfamiliar with which designs are accurate.
US bills should be different sizes for the visually impaired. The mint lost their court case, yet here we are still with bills that are all the same size.
I hate it when countries redesign money on a constant cycle (looking at you, US quarters). Hopefully these new designs stay in circulation for a long time.
You sound clinically depressed. Please talk to a therapist. Changing up your routine and adding fun things to your schedule should be making you happier.
It costs less in the long run because you don’t start a forest fire that burns down half the state. Should have buried them to begin with.
Hmmm. What can we do to lose even more customers? Raising prices and inserting ads wasn’t enough.
That photo is awesome.
That painting is gorgeous. Captures a place and time like a dream and a photograph rolled into one.
Reminds me of ICANN fucking up all the domain names.
CocaCola.com CocaCola.new CocaCola.drink Cocacola.world CocaCola.bev
Etc.
Shameful. One thing that might work for the fediverse is federal institutions running their own Mastadon instances on .gov to move away from announcements on Twitter. You can’t fake .gov domains.
Some mods throw a hissy fit if you post more than a link and a headline that matches the story’s exactly. Some people want more than a link and a headline. You can’t win.
I think saving JFK would really alter the timeline. I doubt Nixon would have ever been president.
Preventing the Iranian hostage crisis might also have had a huge impact.
Press and hold the back button. A lot of times this will show a history where you can select a page further back.
You have to wonder what idiot thought this was a good idea. It just means people will grab a soda and not pay for it.
Google just started pointing search results to the archive instead of their own cache. I would hope Google would be donating some supportive money to the archive as a goodwill gesture.
