A streaming network wants to make a show about someone’s life. The show streams 24 hours a day, without interruption. Cameras are placed all over your house and a crew follows you wherever you go.
The broadcast will blur any nudity, but you’re never offscreen. Everything you do and every conversation you have is recorded and distributed to the public in real time.
Ad revenue is generated by the brands you use. If you want to vacation in Paris, they will find an airline and a hotel to sponsor you. If Colgate is a sponsor, that’s what you use to brush your teeth. If they make a deal with Coke, drinking Pepsi products would be a breach of contract. If you breach or end your contract, you will be sued for the money you earned.
The show will air for 3 years, and then you can go on with your life. Deal?
I would do it. Obviously there are so many drawbacks. But I would also consider it as an exercise in honesty and truth and kind of like allowing myself to look in the mirror and really evaluate who I am… While also seeking authenticity… Which is a trippy statement, but I basically believe the most authentic self is the most honest, independent, and ethical version of yourself…
Plus holy shit that is a lot of money. Generational wealth for my family. I’ll take the sacrifice. All of the above is just a positive spin. I’m sure it would create longterm chaos… But once I have that money, I can chill… And level with people on what it was like and hope to make amends, lol.
As much as the fame and zero privacy would be horrific, I think what I hate the most about this is that after the three years are over, any improvements you made wouldn’t ever be seen and you’d be frozen in time as a jerk wherever your faults were.
Becoming a better person is one of the most redeeming things about the inevitable passage of time.
