      To be fair, though, it seems that the rumors started with the companies themselves to create a demand for their plastics by making them seem sustainable so regulators would not step in.

        I learned how much of a scam recycling is when I was trying to acquire recycled materials.

        I called 3 different recycling places and even though I was working for a big company at the time none of these recycling companies could get ay recycled materials. Turns out all they were doing is taking the garbage and sending it “elsewhere”. Later on it turned out “elsewhere” was a landfill in asia.
