Not typically, I’m usually talking fast trying to get an idea out of my head and communicated but they find the need to interrupt with low effort jokes.

Having lived in different areas of the US I do find it’s fairly regional. I can go back home and joke around and be a smartass, but if I tried it here people would find me extremely rude.
