I’m a long time subscriber to Dollar Shave Club and have been using their Executive Razor for years. They recently changed to a new Club Razor, that is frankly pure trash. I tried giving it a month or two, but every time I use it I just get mad about how shitty it is compared to their old ones.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good, cheap blades like Dollar Shave Club used to offer?

I’ve been using Harry’s for the past year or so and it’s OK. Not great, not bad.

I tried the safety razor route and, for me, it was not a good experience. During that time, I was all for it though. Tried multiple handles and blade combinations over the course of two years. Looking for that mythical shave that everyone online talks about. Never found it. I’m sure that safety razors work for a number of people, just not me. Was traveling and forgot my razor and bought a Mach 3 for the first time in years. Shaving took less than half the time and the closeness was indistinguishable from the safety razor and I have a very thick beard with coarse hair. I’ve never looked back, except for finding a decent cartridge razor.

I use Harry’s because I like the single blade on the backside of the cartridge for getting those little spots. Something the safety razor was very good at. Otherwise Harry’s is very meh.

Something I did learn during my foray into safety razors, was the wide world of shaving creams, gels, soaps, pre-shave, after-shave care. Somersets, Creamo and a few other brands are still a part of my shaving regimen.

Asbestos underwear on, as I’ve did the heretical thing and spoken ill of safety razors.

I also tried but couldn’t get into safety razors. I’ve been using Dorco since I made this post and have been happy. I have an Amazon subscribe and save order setup, so it’s similar to a monthly subscription that I used to get through DSC.
