Officials have canceled an abrupt tsunami warning for the coastal areas of California and Oregon that was triggered by a preliminary magnitude 7.0 earthquake off the coast near Humboldt County on Thursday morning. The National Weather Service’s Tsunami Center said a tsunami threat from the earthquake has passed.
