The Axios article you linked says and implies nothing about parenting. The obvious conclusion from the data is that society is more accepting of LGBTQ people, so LGBTQ people are more likely to come out.
That isn’t the obvious conclusion, since the boomers grew up with immense wealth and privacy, and they completely revolutionized sexuality in the West…
They literally normalized pornography, the pill and other birth control, including abortion, and attempted to normalize the more radical concept of ‘free love’ at one point. They normalized and accepted cohabitation before marriage, and began to view sex in terms of ‘compatibility.’
… If the baby boomers were closeted gays, why weren’t they consuming gay porn privately in abnormal amounts…?
Why weren’t they having gay hookups in abnormal amounts…?
Why wasn’t one of the first things they did during the wild sixties is bring up homosexuality?
Because they simply were not inclined in large numbers to be gay or to be transgender.
I think there are really only two logical views of sexuality:
Sexuality is largely fluid and cultural
Only 2% of men and perhaps 5% or more of women are even capable of homosexuality, and in the cases of ancient Greece, modern Turkey and MENA states, etc., they literally are just using someone of the same gender as a msturbtory aid, not unlike men in prisons. The 20% of people claiming to be LGBTQ today are doing so generally for attention, or they are including people they treat simply as sexual outlets and not primary interests as equally valid and thus considerign themselves LGBTQ.
Of course, the former of the two is more logical.
The idea that Baby Boomers and Xers are just not honest with themselves seems nuts to me. Boomers had plenty of premarital sex, and Gen X had the most sex of all the living generations, and they couldn’t figure that out ?
