Trending on social media, people have been discussing some of their best “hacks” for improving their sleep
Anything from taking magnesium before bed, to getting enough exercise in during the day so you sleep well at night, a lot of tips are discussed and being experimented with (you could probably find a bunch of articles about the topic in a search engine)
I’ve noticed for example for remembering dreams that a dream diary or simply trying to remember them and/or write them down seems to improve dream recall
What are your top “sleepmaxxing” tips, or things that have helped improve your sleep?
Two things for me: Earplugs and ebook.
Lots of people in the house so the earplugs speak for themselves. I’m a light sleeper and I’d say they’ve added an average of 30 minutes per night which really adds up. I got “mouldable silicone” ones in the chemist there about 2 weeks ago and they are the best I’ve used so far. Previously was using wax ones which I found great but not as good as the new ones. The spongy ones that you can find everywhere I found hurt my ears after a few hours.
The Kindle I got as a birthday gift. I have it set up so that the page is black with white text, colour of the text is warm and the brightness low. Perfect for a dark room and doesn’t disturb my wife.
It’s a much better way than doomscrolling to get to sleep and if I wake during the night I just pop through a few pages before dozing back to sleep.
