  • Doesn’t include a launcher you just link your account, that said I personally refuse purely on moral grounds. People in many countries cannot play because PSN straight up doesn’t support their country.

Also their reasons are lies, I am tired of being lied to and told it’s not a big deal. Sure signing up for a Psn is easy and free, but I am tired of being forced to do things as a consumer that I’m told is for my benefit when in reality it is solely for the publisher.

The official reason they want it is because supposedly it helps them ban problematic players, which I don’t understand the need for in this game in the first place. Secondly they can already do this through steam. Look up discord screenshots from the Arrowhead community manager by the Discord name spitz. You’ll see company responses, I’m too lazy to add them today.

Here is the real reason sony wants this. Tech companies use account metrics for shareholder presentation to show growth. “Sony added 330 million new PSN accounts in 2024 alone, and had 6 billion more transactions on the PlayStation network in 2024” this is a fictional example of how they can spin this crap. Dipshit investors aren’t going to understand the underlying reason why this spike happened and Sony will elaborate as little as possible. This could lead to massive growth in sony stock, at the very least it looks good. This is the only real reason sony is so interested, it has nothing to do with security or moderation and everything to do with internal growth metrics of corpo pigs. That’s my take at least.

  • IRL very much the case that religion is heavily pushed and forced. If a person said this on a street corner I would roll my eyes and think they are playing the victim card, because they would be.

The Internet can be the opposite, this is heavily dependent on the site of course. Lemmy is pretty evangelically atheist, so to me saying “there is nothing wrong with having faith” is worth saying.

You can look though my messages. Just saying religion isn’t inherently a bad thing in a world news community got negative feedback.

I understand the frustration of having to deal with invasive religion daily, both personally and legislatively. There is so much bullshit that people following a religion have and will continue to cause for everyone, even those who follow the same god.

If you use frustration to be evangelically against an ideology, you can start to cross the threshold of hypocrisy.

  • It’s honestly more that investing in a company that hasn’t been profitable for 20 years and has had the CEO admit they don’t know how to properly turn a profit doesn’t strike me as a good investment.

I’m not saying you should get out, your money is your business of course but you may want to look at how other IPOs performed immediately after release. The ones I know of are CRSR(CORSAIR GAMING), OLPX(OLAPLEX), and RR(RICHTECH ROBOTICS). All three of these spiked dramatically up after the initial offering, then crashed to less than half the price of the initial offering ( except CRSR which is at offering price currently).

Now these aren’t the same industries of course so things could differ but I would be surprised if it did. The selling of data for LLMs(AI) is very limited IMO mainly because the more AI generated content reddit has the worst the model will be for the LLMs and AI content is pretty high right now. RDDT just does not have good fundamentals for an investment, public sentiment is super low already and now viable alternatives are popping up like lemmy. I am also sure that now they are public reddit will only get shittier for the user leading to a lost base.

I am not a financial advisor, this is just my opinion. I would personally get out relatively soon after you capture some profits and not look back. Again I’m not trying to tell you what to do but I would strongly consider these things. Best of luck and I hope you get some nice gains from it!
