I hated olives when I was a kid, then I grew to love it. Same with ginger. Red beets and celery I will never like though.
This is still quite far from becoming law. I applaud this second open letter for rightfully addressing major concerns with this proposal and I think the timing of it is right. This does show how difficult the line to thread between encryption and privacy on the one hand and fighting crime in the digital sphere like CSAM or communication between members of organized crime on the other hand is. Still, it is important to be very careful with these types of laws. After all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Hah, that’s why I bought a little treasure chest that I have on my desk. I keep magic stuff there like usb keys, a lighter, these things (whatever they are called? Sim card pins?), anything that is small and infrequently used.
Tesla was overvalued when it hit 50$ pre stock split. Its continued rise over a period of years to one of the most valuable public companies is just mind boggling. But I think even now there is a lot of hesitance in shorting the stock as entire fortunes have been lost trying to predict a share price correction.
But we’re about to find out whether Tesla truly transcends auto companies: https://bradmunchen.substack.com/p/could-tesla-go-bankrupt-the-odds
Spotting one of these just went on my bucket list. Beautiful creatures.
Been using kagi for several months now and can’t imagine going back. The only thing I still use google for is when I want to shop for a specific product after having used kagi to do my homework. I’m sure I can configure a filter for that, but haven’t gotten around to that yet.
As a married person, I don’t agree with your opinion (warranting an upvote) and this had me chuckling. I like your laconic phrasing.
I live in central Europe and I usually just go to the movie theater around the corner. They only have one screen so we check the schedule when there is a movie we want to see and plan for it. Or we go when they play an interesting movie, they often have some independent movies that can be quite interesting. Anyway, we pay 6€ per ticket and we usually take some tea in a flask with.
That is a movie experience I enjoy, because we go see movies we want to see (as opposed going to the movie theater and just watch something that’s playing), the price is very affordable and I don’t feel like I’m treated as a walking wallet.
In the larger cities around we can also have the full commercial experience with popcorn and snacks, 12 different movies to choose from including IMAX, but that kind of experience we don’t enjoy (although I used to when younger).
The watch is made in a highly automated environment with super cheap labor. The repair is done by somebody earning a multitude of that labor. Not condoning this in the slightest, but I can understand the economics behind it.
