Just on statistics, it seems unlikely that in the period of time that coconuts have been floating around that they would only have made it there about the same time as explorers. Surely if they could make it there floating then they would have much earlier.
I remember thinking how “lucky” we were that COVID-19 was relatively mild, compared to say the original SARS which had a 10%+ mortality rate. This is a two edged sword though, because we shot our load on COVID-19 and too many people aren’t going to accept restrictions again. There’s a fair segment of society who will work against any efforts at public health now.
I just found the Streisand effect amazing here. I would never have gone to the NGA and seen this painting, but I’ve seen it now.
I have young kids and recently learned what Roblox actually is. My kids will never be allowed to spend a cent on that. I am happy to buy them suitable games.
There are a lot of things which can be done to start fixing it, but we won’t even do those. Get rid of the capital gains discount and make investment losses only able to be counted against profit from that investment (not other income).
Then you can start looking at supply and liquidity issues.
Because everyone on the sole is lazy. Except when we need assistance in which case we’re just a battler needing help, but everyone else is lazy.
There’s no mention of apples in the biblical record, just “fruit”
The US rolled our democratically elected government in the 70s and we still lick their boots to this day. You’d be forgiven for thinking I was talking about a country in the third world, but I’m talking about Australia.

The problem is that I wouldn’t have discovered most of the artists I like without streaming services. I go to concerts and buy merch instead.
Your problem is that you’re relying on their algorithms, which are imperfect, and haven’t given them much training data.
Personally I never use the radio function. I listen to artists I like, I listen to and create playlists I like, and I sometimes listen to recommended songs and add them to my lists if I like them. I would say that I have a pretty broad taste in music - but it’s certainly not traditionally popular music. The last week or two I’ve been purely listening to my “liked” list because there are multiple thousand songs in it.
Because they’re not us, and we are stupid half evolved primates who can’t think beyond our own immediate surrounds.
Three in four children accessed porn before they were 18 before there was internet porn. Hell, I’d bet that three in four boomers were sexually active before they were 18 too.
I’m sure there are people, but I think you’d be surprised how few there are. The vast majority of people make long trips very infrequently - to the point that most could hire a car or find some other means for those situations.
Shouldn’t he resign based on this criterion?
If only the phone operating system allowed you to load applications from somewhere other than the official app store. Someone should make a phone that does that.
My phone was manufactured in 2022, cost under USD250, and has 8gb of ram. New phones generally come with 12gb or more.
The original Star Wars movies were probably really good and genre defining in the late 70s, but they’re just boring and campy now.
I didn’t even realise digidirect was still operating.
