“Banning companies for doing business with China is a bad path to start down.”

It’s hard to even think of them banning Tiktok (although didn’t India?)

the politicians seem completely oblivious to how popular it is and what kind of content is on there

If it’s a national security issue it should be banned from government phones or workers. Everybody else eh. If they are going to ban it they should also ban everything else that tracks us.

Apple keeps your data out of government hands to the best of their ability. Many times unless a court orders them to hand over data they tell the government to piss off.

Tik tok just gives your data to the Chinese government and whoever else asks for it.

Do you know that TikTok hands info over to the Chinese government? Or is this just one of those things we have on repeat now?

hint: theyre trying to ban tiktok because it allows freer speech. u.s. companies hand over data to u.s. govt but tiktok doesnt in the same way. the politicians are distracting from these real reasons
