I tried mint but it doesnt work on my display out of the box, ik you can always try tinkering but i’d love to switch to something that works no terminal needed. Im gonna give fedora budgie a try, anything else i should try? im interested in photo and video editing but i hate win 11.

Any distro would work. The thing that matters is the DE or the WM and its configuration. Anything with Gnome or KDE should work and be easy to set up. The new big thing is Cosmic by the devs of PopOS. It is also easy to get up and running.

As far as your issue with the drivers go you should first find what your network card is. Then look up or ask ChatGPT how to install drivers for X on Y distro.

A bit of an odd choice but I’ve had good experience with openSUSE microOS. It is an immutable OS so when it updates it’s all in one big update kind of like a mobile phone. Keeps it stable and keeps it from building up cruft like a lot of OSes.

Don’t use it if you don’t like flatpak apps though. And it only has Gnome or KDE flavors. It just works for me though.

Who makes the Wi-Fi card? You might need their firmware installed. All the major makers are usually included by default though. Like intel or Realtek should just work.

Should work out of the box on any distro being an intel card. I’m not familiar enough with Fedora to really help with that.

its never like that imo, there is typically something wrong out of the box which requires some tinkering

why not vanilla ubuntu or one of its direct derivatives like lubuntu

something that works no terminal needed

I’d encourage you to not fear the terminal. you can mostly copy and paste code in to it for whatever issue you have. and also just ask on here or other places like chats if you need help sometimes. or ask a LLM for help like donky says. brave search has one integrated in to their search now, it autodetects some searches asking for coding help and generates ideas on what to do
