So I was a daily smoker and then I would take a rip, and immediately throw up. It would subside after a few hours and I was good for the rest of the day, but I thought it was weird so I stopped smoking for a couple of months, and figured I’d be OK smoking again this weekend. I took 2 hits, and immediately needed to throw up. They weren’tmonster hits nor did I get enough to even make me cough, but as soon as I took the second hit, I had to expell everything. Can someone please give me clarification on what is possibly going on?

While CHS is the likely culprit, it could also be an allergy that’s built up over time. Most people don’t realize it’s possible to be allergic to cannabis, but it is indeed. Source: I’m allergic to cannabis.

If so, look into desensitization methods. Not sure if they work with an acquired allergy or not though.

Just commenting to second the allergy, even tho it may not be the issue here. I always had awful reactions over the ~15 years I tried it off and on. Terrible. Not like CHS at all. You’re right, allergy (or something) is a thing. But probably not what OP has (not a doctor).

It might be similar cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, though that’s usually accompanied with nausea that goes away in a hot shower.

It is most likely this. OP is one of the unfortunate people that just cannot use marijuana safely due to his biology. If you have cannabinoid hyperemesis, best to stay away from weed because the constant nausea/vomiting can lead to unintentional weight loss and a lot of other physical problems that are no fun.

My GF has it real bad if she smokes too much, meanwhile I can smoke 3x as much and be fine.

Pro tip: If you’ve got this and can’t stand it, ask for some haloperidol. It calms down the nerve that’s making you nauseous.

100% this. OP try to tense your stomach while you inhale to force air into your chest instead. I had the same issue when I stopped smoking for a while.

I had that, it was a combo of too much build up in my system, and the particular stain.

I got healthy for a bit then I was fine (not much of that strain left, so I pul it on the bottom of the pile).

Suggest returning to an different favourite or one you like and know well. But listen to your body - when it says stop you stop. If it’s saying quit, then you don’t have much choice.
