By the way, offer up and letgo have combined now. If you want to ditch stuff quick, do a yard sale and offer dirt cheap prices. If you want to maximize profit, eBay (but that’s a loooot of work, my work does that and it’s half my workload).
If you want an in-between, you can go on fb marketplace and offer up. There are tons of annoying bots though.

Ultimately though, a lot of stuff will probably be trashed. Even if something has a good shelf price, actually selling it is pretty hard. At work, something has to sell for greater than 20-40$ to break even on storing it, tracking it, packing it and shipping it.

Left 4 dead, in my opinion. It’s fascinating as it’s attempting to look realistic yet doesn’t look very dated. I think it’s because of how good the animations are, and most of the game is dark and gloomy.
Also SCP containment breach. Not graphically impressive but its atmosphere and immersion simply isn’t the same without them. I feel no other SCP games captures the atmosphere of Containment Breach.

Ill see what happens, presidents like to talk big before they’re elected, but if everything really goes down the shitter, and project 2025 is successful I’ll seriously consider leaving. Very fortunately I am British by decent. Not the greatest improvement but a significant one nonetheless.
I do it because I don’t really mind a shit show, but I 100% understand those who want to remain out of it. Lemmy is insanely toxic at times and it’s sometimes made me reconsider this platform.
Some of it comes from “binning” of chips. Despite our technology, processor manufacturing is kind of a gamble, the number of transistors a chip will have will be somewhat random, and the performance will vary. They will then sort and separate these processors by speed, “binning”.
That’s why you see CPU models that are nearly identical to each other but vary slightly in speed.
Plus, companies love money. They will make a product for every possible conceivable market. Say if somebody doesn’t want to spend 200$, but can afford something greater than 150$, there will be a CPU for that gap.
Then different workloads require different types of CPUS. Single core applications need high clock speed, protein folding and needs many, slower cores and servers need processors that prioritize stability.
This is a weird one. Agree with them and basically be really pathetic. It really messes with people like this and narcissists.
The moment you fight back, or try to establish boundaries with people like this, they perceive you as challenging them. Since these people are ultimately insecure they will put you down really hard, to feel secure about themselves.

Extendo arm. It’s goofy as hell but it’s a god send when there’s a bunch of random crap on the floor. They also have deceivingly good grip strength too.
Hand held vacuum. I don’t think this is that niche anymore but it works really well for cleaning tables, random tight corners and I park it next to my clothes dryer to easily clean the filter. I also use it a TON for sucking up bugs. Buy a corded one since battery operated ones die fast (I went through 2 or 3 of these personally)
Bench scraper. Easily removes 90% of any grime on hard surfaces. Honestly more effective than a rag and detergent. When I bought mine I decided to try it out on my “thoroughly cleaned” kitchen counter and removed a disheartening amount of grime. Afterwards I use some detergent just to sterilize everything.
In my personal opinion, the largest impact you have as an individual is your vote. Once elections are over there’s no need to keep up with the news, there’s nothing you can really do after all.
Something that really changed my perspective is that one of the oldest men to have ever lived, lived and grew up in Venezuela, a horrifically mismanaged country with tons of despair. Despite everything around him and living very modestly, he lived to an extremely old age.
You don’t live that long without will to live but despite his circumstances he found personal happiness and fulfillment.
Moral of the story, despite the gloomy world out there doesn’t mean yours deserves to be too.

If workers get injured, they blame the worker for disregarding safety precautions. OSHA usually only steps in if safety equipment/practice is outright missing, not if workers are told to not use them.
The “macho” attitude to safety. From soldering to woodworking. In soldering, there are fumes created when burning a substance called flux. There are commercial fumes extractors to purify and remove these fumes, but many refuse to use them, even if they’re cheap. Saying stuff like "What’s a little tree sap gonna do to me?. Chances are, none of them could run a mile due to the irritation of their lungs.
Another one is woodworking, especially around power tools. Table saws can shred your fingers before you can blink. It can pull extremities towards itself, and can launch wood fast enough to perforate organs. Yet there are still people who insist “I don’t need no push stick”, “don’t bother with a crosscut sled, just free hand it”.

God what is it with every social media app sucking hot fucking garbage despite being the most popular way to access it?. Especially if the app was bearable and progressively got worse.
I think most men are so infamously dense because they don’t want to misinterpret things. It’s a really thin line to walk and falling might ruin a friendship or make things very awkward. Very good manners/kindness and flirtatiousness are very difficult to distinguish.
Making the first move and reading things wrong can really hurt, especially if the other party wants it too. I had a female friend that was very friendly, who’d hug and hold hands with me at times. Friends told me to go for it. When I did she told all of her friends and I was collectively humiliated by the whole school. You could say I dodged a bullet, but it felt like I was by a car.
I’m over it now but I’m now very risk averse. Unless somebody are practically yelling at me to date them, I will only assume friendly intentions
Ehhh it depends. For a work interview or anything professional, you can take it until you make it. But when socializing however you should be yourself.
People can tell when you are trying to be somebody you aren’t, and people are most comfortable around those who are open about who they are.
During reddits API fiasco. Specifically the app I was using (boost) recommend everybody move to Lemmy and I obliged. Used jerboa but as soon as Boost for Lemmy was launched I immediately hopped on board. I hope the rest of reddit users comes to their senses. The protest was so utterly pathetic and cowardly.
Habitat for humanity if you have one near you. I got a lot of my furniture from there and made some shockingly good deals. A solid brass chandelier worth 4500$, for 45$, an acacia table worth 2500$, for 200$, etc. Obviously you have to have a keen eye for what’s good or bad but it’s a great place to start.
Also when buying used furniture I like to stick to stores as they will check and exterminate bed bugs.
I think it would be nuclear warfare. Nuclear fission is a universal development for any advanced civilization. It would be easy to construct a nuclear bomb in an advanced civilization. Once a few rogue/pariah states start making them, everyone’s screwed.
Making nukes is easy, the only reason we don’t see more nuclear states on earth is because of the international backlash. With a couple more Iran and North Korea’s we’ll likely meet the filter ourselves.
