Seems like a very likely move that the studios pulled it. It seems unlike Matt and Trey to pull an episode, even as drastic as the situation is (don’t know that anything comparable that could be attributed to them has happened in the shows history - open to being corrected if I’m wrong on that).
You are correct that the decision appears to have originated at Comedy Central proper.
However, in the early 2000s there was something called a ‘South Park Republican,’ which was basically referencing younger, Libertarian-esque Republicans with an irreverent demeanor.
It’s my understanding that they just decided not to air that particular rerun on that particular day.

If you go on right wing platforms it’s loaded with post after post of left wingers who just got fired from their jobs yesterday after celebrating his death online. I think you overestimate how consequential this could be. He’s dead. He’ll have a funeral, some people will talk about that, and then Trump will have to keep saying and doing more stupid stuff to keep diverting the attention from he fact that he raped children and 2 separate committees in Congress are now working to bring that to light.

It isn’t a win for the left at all. In fact this seems to be sowing a lot of dissent in the the left. I have some friends that are left. This shook them up. They always say Charlie as a decent person with ideas they didn’t agree with. Not someone who should be shot.

Exactly, hardline fools will celebrate his death but they are the minority and it will only appendage them politically and socially. It would be like if someone went and shot James carville or Anderson Cooper. It solves nothing, matures things worse and the people who would celebrate it would only make their party worse off
Personally I think this was a stupid move. It draws more interest to Charlie and his views. Murdering people isn’t the fight answer when you disagree. I suspect they just pushed the republicans into winning 2026.
