Honestly don’t care about Elon’s PoE 2 account. Nor do I care much about Asmongold as a person, I only have a single important question:

What’s with gaming streamers/youtubers trying to look like Jesus? GN Steve gets a pass, he’s Tech Jesus and everyone knows it. What’s up with Asmongold and that Penguinz guy though?

By “look like Jesus” do you mean they are white guys with long hair and facial hair?

I think you might underestimate how easy it is to grow your hair out and stop shaving and instantly become a Jesus look-alike. No effort needed.

Also, these two dudes look extremely different from each other and obviously they look nothing like Jesus who was a 5 and 1/2 ft tall brown skinned Semite.

I mean, I walked into the church hall for the daughter of my friends’ baptism and everyone paused to look at me, even the priest. I even overhead “it’s Jesus” from the mother who was 2 pews in front of me.

Seeing the bewilderment and expressions of everyone was just magical.

By “look like Jesus” I do indeed mean the popular modern western depiction of Jesus, because as far as I know, there’s no conclusive proof of a historical Jesus existing, and if he did, he was obviously not a modern European-origin American man.

As for the second point - idk, it might just be because I can’t grow a decent full beard, but after the first centimeter or 2 of facial hair, I just get told to shave because it’s not funny anymore. I also can’t imagine letting my hair grow for several years to get it as long as those guys. I thought one of the perks of being a man is that you get to be comfortable instead of spending years growing out your hair and shit lol

I go from Three musketeer to wizard of the Court in about 1 month. Generally I just prefer not to cut my hair, but it will reach full length in about 1 year and then just stop growing any longer.

These guys seem like they also chose this hairstyle because it’s just less work and you spend less time being uncomfortable.

Constantly shaving all the time sucks.

Garbage journalism what a joke. Fuck, I still remember when Vice was relevant and renowned for the work.

I like to think this is the start of something important, Musks gaming account, realising that we can seriously sidetrack Trump by calling him the vice president and weird. The public is learning how to enact our own kind of political manipulation.

Fragile masculinity combined with wanting to appear sufficiently tech savvy to tech bro investors. Tech bros want nerds because pretty much every dollar they’ve ever made was off the back of some innovation of someone they consider a nerd, so Elon wants to be the biggest nerd to tech bros so they will throw even more money at his dumb projects.

It’s for the same reason he’s pretended to be a genius his entire career, he’s obsessed with his self image and being number one. He’s lied about being the best quake player in the world at some point. He’s like Billy Mitchell with more money.

He’s already demonstrated first hand he doesn’t know how to navigate the UI for someone who has invested time to be a top player. It’s obvious to anyone that’s spent more than a couple days in any game.

If Musk is ready to lie about his gaming achievements then can we really trust anything that comes out from his mouth.

I mean who cares if Musk is bad at POE2 but the fact that he goes to such lengths to lie about how good he is in a videogame tells a lot about his character and personality.

He made a post using command line lingo too, but anyone with even basic knowledge of those commands can tell you that both the syntax and the way he alludes to them are wrong.

It’s the equivalent of slinging a guitar in a picture to look cool but pressing the side with the strings against your belly.

Musk has his loyal fanbase who have been impressed by his achievements with Paypal, Tesla and SpaceX.
Honestly he seemed all right before 2020’s but after that he’s slowly become more and more radicalized.

Fortunately his behaviour is alienating a lot of his fanbase, unfortunately they’re getting replaced by more far right fans.

Have you not noticed any of the many things Musk has said and done to suppress things like civil and worker’s rights? How he’s sucking Trump’s cock so he can dictate policy to the country? How he turned Twitter into an actual Nazi mouthpiece? That’s what he’s using his image to try to push.

Rather than taking the time to try and research Elon, it’s probably faster to just read the Wikipedia entries on the German Nazi party and apartheid South Africa. That should give you a pretty good idea of what he believes and is pushing.

        Among other things:

        • anti workers rights
        • anti immigrant
          • with exceptions for his own businesses
        • anti safety nets
        • pro fascist
          • he’s began propping up Reform in UK and AfD in Germany
        • pro corporate

Basically your bog-standard right-wing corporate fascist grab bag. He’s using his platforms (in all meaning of the word) to push that internationally.

The craziest part of that article is

Vice co-founder Shane Smith stepped down as CEO in 2018, but has remained the company’s (…) The Canadian-born journalist’s focus seems to be trained on the southern border, with an editorial line closer to Trump campaign fearmongering than hard news reporting. (Smith is not to be confused with Vice co-founder Gavin McInnes, who left the media company and established the far-right militant group the Proud Boys).

So two of the three Vice media founders are now far right? I tried to find out more about Suroosh Alvi, the third founder, but didn’t see much. Though on his X (🤢) he posts and reports a bunch of pro Gaza stuff.

I shouldn’t be surprised cuz it looks like they all got rich off Vice, but still.

I feel like I remember them focusing on the sensation around news and not the actual news. Anything news worthy was included as a matter of context.

I felt like Vice was as if Beavis and Butthead were reporters, they went to the heart of a story that wasn’t getting much coverage and asked about people’s butts.

Not a surprise, dude gives off those vibes in videos as well.

Some of us remember when Vice was a mean-spirited, local magazine that made fun of the way New Yorkers dressed.

Not really surprising that those people turned out to be scumbags.
