All seems abandoned without following.
Everyone wants lively communities, yet few people are willing to post.
Lemmy isn’t big enough to have 1% of users be able to provide content to a passive 99%. If you want more of something, you need to make it happen. People naturally slowly become more willing to engage when there is activity, but there need to be people making a conscious effort to be the early adopters. If you want posts, make posts. It does much more good than asking why there are no posts.
I’m not going to post in a ghost town
“I dont want to do anything. I want everyone else to entertain me”
Where do you think active communities started in the first place?
Be the change you want to see. Post the content you want to see. Start the community you want, and grow it.
You’re saying that like it’s a bad thing
Then don’t? Sounds like you just want free content. That’s really not “what we do” here
Feel free to start one, and post
Nobody would follow.
Funny.
Lol. Answered your own question.
They were all killed by spooky ghosts
I think The Evil Dead is the most consistent horror franchise. Like Alien and The Exorcist have incredibly high highs but the lows are abhorrent.
Edit: misread your question lol
I think that the movies sub is a good place for horror. Yes, there are other genres there but we’re in a golden age for horror films with A24 cranking out bangers. Horror always does well at the box office so you can pretty much be guaranteed a thread for each new release.
You may have misread it, but I agree with you. Evil Dead is one of the most consistent horror universes out there. Army of Darkness is definitely my favorite. Give me some sugar, baby.
I guess it depends on the franchise… Hellraiser has a pretty sweet box set coming out later this year, that’s an opportunity to start a discussion:
Anyone ever read the original or the sequel?
Isn’t there a monster movie one? There a movie community. I’m sure there are some horror fans there. Broader categories can include niche topics while benefiting from the participation of a larger audience.
